Audience Feedback on Music video.

Me and Lucy gathered a focus group that are of a Alternative Indie Rock audience, we had them watch our music video and then they provided feedback for us. We gathered positive feedback about our music video well as them saying we have meet the codes and conventions of Alternative Indie Rock genre. Our feedback from our focus group informed us that our music video showed quite clearly that it was an Alternative indie rock music genre. This was based on our chosen song and the editing style that showed an edgy and grunge outlook towards the video. They said that the 3Dimensional overlay effect helped portray that edgy atmosphere within the music video. Me and Lucy also learned that they enjoyed the fact that the band members were filming their selves and that they liked seeing the band in footage that shows behind the scenes. It makes them look and feel like real people rather then this flawless and fixed band playing themselves with a script. They like the fact that they are seen as themselves. It was clear to our audience that the narrative of the music video was the ban members filming themselves for fans well they travel to gigs on tour. Knowing that, we have learnt that audiences like to know whats going on in the music video, applying an narrative to the music video showed just helps keep the audience interested in the music video and not getting bored of the same performance shots because they have a story to follow. We asked our focus group what features in the music video did they like best and majority liked the editing style. Applying that 3Dimensional effect over the shot types creates an interest for the audience not only that but its shows a strong link towards our other products in order to promt

Audience feedback on Ancillary tasks

We had one of our audience members to give us feedback on our Ancillary tasks (poster and digital) she gave us positive feedback and constructive criticism which aloud us to have room for improvement and expand on ideas in future matters. Our interviewee was India and she preferred the idea of having our band members on the front cover instead of a logo or trademark like Twenty One Pilots or 1975 on our ancillary task because it shows character and personality for audiences when they see the product. This is because they can make an connection through direct address in the photo's.It also visualising the actual band members, it makes their faces more known to audiences. She told us that she would buy these products because of the editing skills and the type of photo's used. She liked the self portrait pictures inside the digipak because they are natural photo's they are pulling facing, this shows a more relaxed side towards the band. India enjoyed the fact that they weren't pristine photos that have gone under intense photoshopping and haven't been over edited with unrealistic colours. she saw imdematly that they weren't fake they are a band that show realism and unperfected people. She said the positioning of the artist when doing the photo shoots and applied on the ancillary task amplified our chose genre (alternative indie rock)which is the aim for meeting our codes and conventions with our product range. From our feedback me and Lucy asked a question, this genre is suppose to meet the codes and convention of alternative indie rock, what genre do you think these products fit with most. the feedback we were given is that it contrasts best as a alternative indie as rock is purely performance however we portrayed the performance aspect within the music video. However alternative indie and the way we styled and designed our anciliary tasks there is more to look at and more to appreciate with it. overall our feedback was positive and very interesting to gather because of the different persecutive you have from other people.
